The CEO of social media giant Twitter has admitted he didn.
In an interview with Business Insider, the company’s new CEO said that his vision for the platform was to make it “more accessible and less intimidating for the average user”.
“I think I wanted to say, ‘Let’s take a look at this and find out if we can get it right’,” Jack Dorsey said.
“That’s what I wanted for this platform.
That’s what’s on the back of the bus, is that I think we could have done that.”
The CEO said Twitter was facing “a very real, very hard problem”, and that he hoped to solve it by giving users more tools to manage their information.
However, the new CEO also said that the platform would continue to evolve in response to user feedback.
“I know there are lots of ways we can improve,” Dorsey told Business Insider.
“There are ways we could improve things for the user experience and make things more user friendly.”
Twitter previously introduced the ability to block certain content.
The platform has also introduced “trending content” that allows users to track their search history and social media activity.
“We’re a platform that is open, transparent and fair,” Dorseysaid.
“It’s not the most user-friendly platform for us to be, but I think it’s the right thing to do.”
I think the more we can give our users more choices in the way we create their accounts and manage their accounts, the more effective we’ll be.
